For two years, I was in love with a girl in Germany named Andrea. We were inseperable. May 17, 2018 she suddenly vanished. I flew to Germany, lost my phone when I arrived, and could not find her. Andrea was involved in an automobile accident, critically injured, spent 9 long months alone in a coma, and I had no idea. She knew of me but couldn't remember my name because of her brain injury. Then on June 8th, 2021, I saw an image that made me think, could this be my Andrea? I wrote her beautiful poetry for two years and as soon as I posted this poem online, she saw it and I finally found my Andrea.

It's been a long time, since we said hello,
I've missed our long talks, and places we'd go.
I've thought of you often, and why you would leave,
When I was your rock, when you needed me.

Everything ended, so suddenly fast,
When I thought what we shared, was going to last.
Germany was, such a beautiful place,
The Cathedral, the Rhine, and life's slower pace.

I hold no grudge, I just want to talk,
To be your friend, and maybe your rock.
Please say hello, and let's start over,
I miss you Andrea, you were my inspiration.

Within minutes, Andrea responded with the following message:

Hello Allen, I thought I had lost you. Now I have tears in my eyes. I couldn't log into Tumblr, I couldn't remember the password, and I couldn't find you with a new account.

So many things have happened, I have forgotten so much, missed so many things, but I always knew that my rock was somewhere and it hurt not to be able to find you.

I had seen the first messages but didn't recognize that it was you. All changed with the poem, I know only one person in the world who would write like that.

Oh, my goodness, I'm so happy you found her! What joy you both must have felt when you connected again.
