How long will it take for my story to be published?

Once you submit a story for publication on Literotica, it must be reviewed before readers can view it.

How long a story takes to go live on the site depends on how many stories authors have submitted during that day or week. We try to balance the queue so that submissions are posted as quickly as possible without overloading readers and possibly burying your story. A story or poem submitted to Literotica (meeting all of our publishing criteria) will generally go live within two to four days. Audio and Illustrated works are posted once a week.

If it’s been more than five days since you submitted your text story (eight days for Audio and Illustrated), please check your Pending folder. If you do not see your story there, check your Drafts folder. If it is in the Drafts folder, that means it has not yet been submitted to us for review. To submit the work, click on the title and navigate to the bottom of the form. Click the Preview&Publish button, then click the blue Submit for Publication button. You should receive a message alerting you that the work has been successfully submitted for publication.

If the story isn’t in your Pending or Drafts folder, please check your Sent Back folder. If we find any issues with your story which prevent its publication (i.e. technical issues, etc.), we will send the story to your Sent Back folder. Once you’ve addressed the issues, please follow the steps above to re-submit the work to us for review and approval.

Please Note: Stories and poems are approved by date, oldest to newest. Whenever an author makes any change to a story or poem - or even if the author clicks on the submission and hits Submit for Publication again - that submission is moved to the end of the moderation queue. To speed up the posting of your work, only make changes when necessary.
