My story has been sent back. What now?

Every story published on Literotica goes through a review process before becoming available to readers. It’s not uncommon for the review process to catch an issue or two that needs to be addressed before the story can be published. When a story needs a little more work, it will be moved to your Sent Back folder and you will get a notification in your activity feed.

The first rule of having a story sent back is: Don’t panic!

Assuming your story meets our writing guidelines, it should be possible to resubmit the story and get it back in the publishing queue pretty quickly.

Click on the title of the Sent Back work. This will take you to the submission form. At the top of the submission form you will see a box with the reason(s) the story was sent back to you. (To decipher these reasons, see this forum post in the Editor’s Forum.)

Once you’ve made the suggested fixes, you may put the newly edited story text into the same submission form as before, then resubmit the story by simply hitting SUBMIT just as you did the first time. There is no need to start a new form or rename the submission in any way.

If you have further questions, you might try the Literotica Author’s Hangout Forum to get advice. Most longtime Lit Authors have had at least one story sent back.
