love is for some but not always
omniscience often without answers
narcissism is the new God
effervescent in its victims wake
left lifeless behind bright eyes
youth wasted on an unwanted affection.

perpetuated by ceaseless lies
evasive passions did persuade
opulent romance only for the selfish
promised yet never delivered
lost to the unforgiving sands eternal
exaggerated senses now left wanting.

maybe we should tear down the mirrors to explore what lies behind and precious words to be the only presents that we share

Thanks for sharing these thoughts.

Narcissism is the new God. I love how you use your words. Severely literal sometimes and bending others. Brilliant.
