break from tales of infidelity, disrespect and pain AND how true to life. There are so very many things we have to appreciate about our spouses and significant others and it"s nice to be reminded. Thanks. Always a fan, cageytee
on what fooking planet?.... great story. Fantasy... but great story
It really warmed my little heart. We really need such beautiful stories in this "Loving Wives" Category. Thank you for writing this story and for sharing.
This was a beautiful story, and described my reality. It was well written, subtle, and brought home how we sometimes over look and underestimate our spouses and what they see and feel. Yes Virginia, there are women like this. I know because I have been married to one for 22 years and together with her for 25. I am certain, if the women in the story was wife, that she would have been irritated about the late nights and the weekends sitting on the couch. She would have been upset at Japan. In my life, there have been similar incidents where I have let my love down and some even worse. Yet through it all, through the years, the children (3), and all of it, she loves me and I know it. I can look in those brown eyes and know, she knows. Sorry to sound like I am bragging, guess I am, but I also wanted to point out why this story struck me so deeply. BTW...do I feel I deserve it, not on your life, but then I had better not tell her that. I have tried and she laughs at me, and points out not to put myself down for it puts her down too. The author, and yes I am a fan, wrote it so very well. 100++++ M
after 42 years (we are 1947 & 48 vintage, Paticia51), my perversions, her perversions, my manifold transgressions, millions of miles and dollars, our marriage and love affair is still intact. And this little story sums the feelings about that status so succinctly and correctly. Believe me, all you doubters out there, it does happen. Maybe it's only rarely these days, and maybe its due to blind luck, or perseverance, or forgiveness, or the indefinable "love", but Patricia51 nailed the sentiment here. Thanks for this breath of fresh air.
I understand the husbands sentiments. However I have never stopped telling my wife how gorgeous she is to me. I have never stopped telling her how much I love her. I have known my wife for 20 years and been married 15 years on the 30/7/09 we are going out to celebrate as we do every year. I have never wanted anyone else and I never will, my wife has assured me on numerous occasions she feels the same way. I know people won't believe this, but every night we say "I love you" to each other before we go to sleep. It started 20 years ago and we have continued saying it. Even when we are apart we text each other or call each other and say "Goodnight".
I never take my wife for granted and if anyone threatend her or tried coming between us? Well I would walk through HELL to get keep her and fight for her. Likewise she would do the same for me.
To the writer a very well written story as always and good to see you are still writing.
Regards
GW
As always, patricia.
I don't think I'll ever tire of reading your work.
How lovely to find a couple who really love each other. No need for either to look elsewhere for sex, companionship, or anything else. This is truly a classic! I am adding Patricia to my favorites and will read many of her other stories! I hope I learn from her to be half the author she is.
Hello, again, Patricia!!! Your story stimulated me to make the score 10 to 1 in favor of Patricia and sensitive, senseble writing. The "Friggin' Bucket" guy must have a human relations IQ of about 3 or zero, and, probably, will never have a decent committed relationship in his whole life. Oh, well!! His loss. Write on, Girl. You do a great job.
This was truly a loving story and it showed how devoted they were towards each other. That is what married life should be all about. Patricia 51 I salute you for a job well done. Cheers Roger.
You had me worried that there would be some horrible revelation along the way. But no, this one was a truly loving wife story... Thanks!
My wife and I dont celebrate birthdays and such. We celebrate any time we can. All of life is special. Red
Outstanding. This brief rendition brings to mind so much of real life, that it's astounding. Very nice work.

This is a great story about how life is really lived and about how real love sees far beyond the petty annoyances or grievances and recognizes love returned in many ways.

It's wonderful that the husband recognizes that his wife is the love of his life and that he needs to show his appreciation a bit more. But respect and appreciation are shown every day as his wife well points out and she is wise enough to see it in the mundane activities that life is made up of and not to expect it in constant fireworks.

Great story.
I generally don't leave comments nor vote, but this is one of the best stories I've read in awhile. And in regards to the bucket guy, well he can't spell even a simple word like shit. Just goes to show the level of his intelligance.
Patricia,
You accel at these types of stories. You have such a fine touch with them. I wish you would right more of them.
I liked this story--It is different from the other loving wives storied--a change in reading.
You still got it girl. You can write circles around most of the authors on this site. Thank You for a great read. Luis
Patricia 51 brings reality to this site. The key is to reinvest in your love and romance every day,for at least a moment or two, and it's amazing how beautiful your spouse becomes each time you express your appreciation.Pistolpackinpete-17 years and growing stronger!
Nice short "love" story That rings nothing but truth!
It is nice to read stories like this to put things into perspective.
Thanks for writing!
Looking at it from the standpoint of nearly half a century with the same person, I really did love your story. From one grandparent to another, Dear Lady you have such a beautiful talent for telling a story. Thank you ever so much for all you have submitted here.
This ia a true loving wives story! A marriage that has withstood it all for 23 years. 5 Stars!
You do write so well. It was indeed a true love story. My only complaint is that you don't write more stories.
You are one of my favorite authors! Another jewel from the QUEEN! You are the BEST!!!
Great story about a real "Loving Wife". We should all be so lucky as to have someone so loving and understanding.
I don't know the reason for your current hiatus but can only hope you decide to start writing again. If you have at another website, please let this fan know. Take care.
Nice to see a true loving wife story after all of the ones that aren't.
If only we all found a partner like that - 2 people who make it because they love each other and even when one is a little to focused (but not myopic) the other is there to connect to reality -
And, well, they both have to do the little things (as he did) even if you do not always remember the good parts they are there.
I truly enjoy your writing thank you for sharing
I'm jealous. Why didn't I marry this woman?
Maybe in the next life.
Patricia,
I don't know if you even read the comments any more, but I reread this story and was once again reminded of how good a writer you are.
Thanks
and better writers on this site - I've yet to find them!
My goodness, don't you cut to the quick. Did you use a photograph of my wife? It was an auto accident in 1994. I almost died. It changed everything. I tell her I love her every day all the time. And you? You're a five.
A story where the wife loves her husband. They're so rare on this site.
You write many fine stories. Thank you! This one was Great! Dan
Patricia I have just read this story again (twice) and I still love it. As previous commenters said, there ARE women like this. I know because I have been married to one for 48 years. And we are still looking over the next hill. She has pushed or pulled me for all those years and I still love her so. As she does me. Thank you for the read and the memories. Oh yes...her name is also Patricia. TTFN Jim
My current marriage is so like this story. My wife is the kind in your story. I guess I am glad my first wasn't as we divorced and she constantly cheated on me because I didn't pay enough attention to her and she was so jealous of my job. I heard the song and, although I can't carry a tune in a five gallon bucket, I sang it to her and she understands the meaning. Thank you for the story.
Too many times here it's the cheating wife. There's no love there.
This made me cry. Love it. 5 stars!
Patricia,
Thanks for writing a true Loving Wives story. This is more real and more
satisfying to read than most of the other stories. After 38 years married
to the same honey I can say we are still in Love today just as we were when
we began. Actually we are more so now. I have always enjoyed your stories.
Thanks Bill
Patricia, Having lost my wife of 28 years recently to cancer, This story brought tears to my eyes as I can relate to everything you wrote about and I miss her more every single minute of every day. 5 Stars
Nothing extraneous. You stuck to what was important to the story. You brought to life two real people who are good and loving. Your story evokes an emotional reaction from even this old cynic. Your story is thought provoking and a good reminder of the important things. Well done. Very well done.
Always reasons for regrets. But, always sweet to read when some have squeezed, held and smelled the roses along the way. And appreciated what blossomed in their lives when they took to heart what their daily repartee was all about.
Very touching effort.
Short but to the point.
That's what love is all about.
No need for more words.
its meaningful love that slowly disappears with each generation,
& does this mean that he passed away? you WERE always on my mind or does she mean it as "YOU, were always on my mind"
i guess to each his own, right?
I especially liked that you alluded to several things commonly used by Loving Wives writers to justify the wife cheating (at least in the wife's mind) and turned them around as simply things that happen and are made up for.
You pretty much stole what I was going to say!
We'd lose half of Loving Wives if all the wives were this rational!
I can't give this more than 5*s. This brought a tear to my eye.
I second BigGuy33 and laptopwriter in their comments.
Thank you for writing such a wonderful story.
5 stars, easily.
Sometimes it is nice to be apprecited just as you are. Wonderful story.
To every selfish, self centered , narcissistic bitch that has been birthed on this site, and their embodiment in the real world ( trust me real world has worse than fiction can ever produce). And to the many characters that are created by authors like DQS, MM, and CARVOsomething, and various others that blame the man for working and being away and using that as a justification for crossing the Rubicon of the married being. Cut and paste the reply of this wonderful wife in all their comments section.
A treasure such as this story and only 64 comments. Two of those whoever runs this site should delete, but 62 affirm your eloquence.
My confusion???
ONLY 64 COMMENTS!
UNBELIEVABLE!
Until I took a considerable amount of time to reflect and determine the cause if an acceptable one existed.
I examined my own actions, reactions, thoughts, and perused every single comment.
I had read this story...I read it again...I read all the comments(bristling at 2-imagining their fingers being introduced to my 4lb sledge-repeatedly introduced)
I sought out my wife...poured her a cup of coffee-sugar and original Coffeemate...she asked me to read it again.
Smiling at each other we welcomed the warmth of your words. Numerous commenters having aptly conveyed my feelings, I deemed my thoughts unworthy repetitions.
Rather than submit an unworthy comment I chose to quietly reflect on the story...hold a mirror to my actions, my wife's, our marriage.
A lengthy objective analysis followed. A frank summation of my considerations was a litany of ''If onlys and what ifs'' ending with a resounding ''from now on!''
I read your exceptional work again.
I had my answer to the ''Only 64 comments????'' question.
68034 viewers, including myself, arose from their seats, abandoned their computers, reached for their spouse, and hand in hand shared a long, leisurely, reflective walk.
Any and all intentions of posting a comment were lost as we found each other once more.
A number of weeks passed since that early Sunday morning when my wife and I shared both this story and our re-discovery of each other.
We have paused for a few minutes to express our gratitude and hope other couples as touched as we were, such that manners were forgotten, will remember to express their thanks!
That on a site dedicated to erotic stories you tell us that the sexual part of the story is none of our business.

For anyone to accept a challenge to write an ending to this story, it's perfect just as it is. Signed: BTW
How absolutely lovely! A couple who appreciates and understands each other. Very few wives would have the level of understanding this wife has. A delightful story. 5*s.
Great! Are you sure this story is in right section? No sneaking, cheating, screaming, lying, and such.
Really great story!
Absolutely beautiful. Totally 5. The recent comment from jimjam69 about the sectional placement speaks to the sweet romance of this story. But as I've said before (in comments on "I Knew The Bride" by BillandKate), there's no reason why Loving Wives can't include stories about loving wives.
A WONDERFUL and Sweet story. A real pleasant change from the normal stories one finds here. Will have to check out your other stories. Over 12 years old and this story still has not gotten old. Thank-you.

That's a wife you keep, take care of and stay faithful to well beyond death, because she is worth it.
Highest of quality and well told. A true smile maker. Thank you for the great read .
"I always knew why you worked so hard. You did it for me; you did it for our children. You did it to give us a nice home, nice clothes, good schools." - If only the cheating "loving wives" realized this.
Loved this story! It gives me hope that maybe, just maybe, after 50 years I haven’t been as much of a loser as I feel sometimes. Now THAT is a loving wife!
Okay, this story is a 5, a big 5! I've never had a heart attack but I can imagine it would make you see the light. This story is enough to make one think about the sin of not paying attention to what they have at home ........
Love it! It's a lucky man that hears music like this from his wife. If or when he deserves it.
It sure would make life worth living .......
Your story reminds me of Marty Robbins' timeless song, "My Woman, My Woman, My Wife." It has been many years since you wrote it, but thanks for sharing it.
It's good to read a story from loving wives that is actually about a oving wife.
A good story. A lovely one. A romantic one. I see you're not writing anymore, and it's a shame.
So this little ditty actually made my eye's water. Definitely moist but not quite leaking. Thanks for sharing your creation about how a marriage should be.
